Lumen ("Lumen," "we," "us," or "our") is a web-based reading application. You can reach us at lumenreadersupport@gmail.com.
When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth). If you subscribe to Lumen Pro, payment is processed by Stripe — we never see or store your credit card number. We also store the articles you save to your library, including their titles, URLs, and your reading progress.
We do not sell your data. We do not run ads.
We use your information solely to provide and improve Lumen — to authenticate you, sync your library, and remember your reading progress. We do not share your personal information with third parties except as necessary to operate the service (Supabase for database hosting, Vercel for application hosting, Stripe for payment processing).
Lumen fetches and reformats articles from third-party websites to improve readability. We do not host, copy, or claim ownership of any third-party content. All original content remains the property of its respective publishers.
You can delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your personal data and saved library are permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
Lumen uses browser localStorage to remember your reading position and preferences. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
Lumen is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
We may update this policy as the service evolves. We'll notify you of material changes via email or a notice in the app.

Lumen is a reading tool that reformats web articles into a focused, paginated reading experience. We are a technology layer — we do not produce, own, or distribute any of the articles you read through our service.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You may not create accounts for others or use Lumen for any unlawful purpose.
Lumen offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. Free users may read articles without saving them. Pro subscribers may save articles, organize them into folders, and access additional features. Subscription fees are billed monthly or annually as selected. You may cancel at any time — cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods.
Lumen fetches articles from public URLs at your request. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for third-party content. Some websites may block or restrict access to their content — we cannot guarantee that every URL will load successfully. Copyright in all fetched articles remains with the original publishers.
You agree not to use Lumen to scrape content at scale, circumvent paywalls systematically, or violate any applicable law. The service is intended for personal, non-commercial reading use.
We aim to keep Lumen running reliably but make no guarantees of uptime. We may modify or discontinue features at any time.
Lumen is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

We may update these Terms as the service grows. Continued use of Lumen after changes constitutes acceptance.
